[Bleach The Three Calamities]

Bleach: The Three Calamities

The three Taichō Aizen Sōsuke, Ichimaru Gin, and Tōsen Kaname, had betrayed Soul Society, leaving their former comrades in panic and chaos. Aizen's goal was to take his place in the vacant throne of Heaven and shape the world to that of his own; and with the aid of the Hōgyoku, he would make that dream reality. However, it required months for the Hōgyoku to reach its full power; once it was achieved, he would need all the souls of Karakura Town to recreate the King's Key and open the gate to Heaven.

Soul Society had been doing its part to try and prevent this by attempting to replenish their ranks and fortify their defenses in order to stop the destruction of the city and upsetting the balance of the worlds. Kurosaki Ichigo and company had been informed of this and they too were training to become stronger and protect the city from Aizen.

But the one thing they did not know was that Urahara Kisuke, creator of the Hōgyoku, possessed an artifact that could fully charge the Hogyoku far earlier than Aizen needed to wait. It was called the Kasokurei, the Soul Accelerator.

And the only other person who knew of this was none other than Aizen himself.

Urahara kept the existence of the Kasokurei as much under wraps as he could, even going through the trouble of creating his own line of defense for it. When Aizen stole the Hōgyoku, Urahara attempted to destroy the Kasokurei, but much like the Orb, it was far too advanced for even its creator to erase. With the failure of the Kasokurei's destruction, Urahara hid it within a cavern carved deep under the streets of Karakura Karakura, so heavily guarded that not even the faintest trace of its reiatsu could be felt by any being, Shinigami, Hollow, or Human. Aizen sent multiple squads of Arrancar and Hollow out to Karakura Town to search for the Kasokurei, though they were repelled every time by the Patrol Squad, as well as the town's human guardians, led by Substitute Shinigami Kurosaki Ichigo.

On the other side of the struggle, the Twelfth Division was busy creating and preparing a specially made barrier; a perfect replica of Karakura Town that would replace the actual town on the day of Aizen's attack. Therefore, it would allow the Gotei 13 to fight at full power and not have to worry about crushing Karakura as a result of their combined reiatsu levels. Kurotsuchi Mayuri and his team worked hastily and did managed to finish it; although it had not yet been properly tested, it would suffice for then.

What no one expected was Aizen to strike preemptively.

During Grimmjow's second attack on Karakura, Aizen deployed all of the Espada and their Fracción. With no time to truly react to Aizen's sudden attack, the Soul Society retaliated as quickly as they could and had placed the fake Karakura up, and the Strike of God had begun.

It was obvious that Aizen had become fed up with pointless searches for the Kasokurei; he would waste no more resources to obtain the Hōgyoku's charger. Urahara had decided to stay back in the battle in order to maintain the Kidō that kept the Kasokurei's location secret. He, alongside Komamura Saijin, Tetsuzaemon Iba, and Inoue Orihime, held up their defenses within the Urahara Shōten. Fate frowned upon them that day, however. The Octava and Novena Espada, Szayel Aporro Granz and Aaroniero Arruruerie were sent in advance to pursue The Kasokurei; a bloody battle ensued that ended up in the deaths of all five combatants.

In fact, the entire battle was just one huge slaughter. Half of the Espada had been decimated alongside their Fracción; two Taichō and Fukutaichō had been slain, and even the human allies had taken hits. Aizen's forces were forced to retreat and refill their own ranks; the Gotei 13 would be forced into the same situation. The Vizard had decided to stay hidden and wait it out until the time was right while Ichigo was forced to get stronger. With the loss of Orihime they no longer had a way to revive fallen comrades and he was out for revenge.

Time continues to pass...

The three calamities slowly converge upon each other...

The Winter War shall soon begin.
