We all know how their story ended, but how does ours begin? Lord Voldemort has been long gone, our heroes have semi-normal lives now, and yet, the legends live on. With the children of the famous trio attending Hogwarts, stories and rumors have yet to cease. There are whispers of a new Dark Lord: someone else who wants the title as the most powerful wizard ever. But stories are stories, and rumors are rumors, right?
The Ministry is worried; there’s no doubt about that. They’re so worried, in fact, that they’ve sent their own into the school again, only this time, the people they’ve sent are people that the school welcome with open arms. Well, most of the school. Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione Weasley are now professors at the beloved school, teaching different classes, mingling with teachers, and watching out for the children’s safety. If someone is trying to infiltrate the school again, they’re going to be the first ones to know about it. However, for every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. Just as the famous trio was asked to reenter the school, so has the not so famous Draco Malfoy, taking on the position of Slytherin Head of House. Was he asked to join them in their mission, or is he here of his own accord, or was he sent here by a different power altogether? Harry is certainly going to find out.
And while the adults are now preoccupied with their own unsolved demons, the next generation is busy making their own. Some students here at Hogwarts are none the wiser, thinking things are absolutely normal, while others know exactly what’s going on, and others…well, let us just say that they definitely know what’s going on, considering they’re a part of it. But which students are completely innocent, and which students have everyone fooled? Could it be that Draco’s son is now taking over his position in the Slytherin house as the most feared bully in the school? Or is Scorpius Malfoy simply a confused boy trying to find himself? Have Harry and Ginny’s children taken on their role as the good, adventurous children of the school? Or has the fact that Lily Potter resides in the Slytherin house changed everything? Did Ron and Hermione enter the school to help Harry and the ministry, or is there something else going on with that family entirely?
And who is this supposed newcomer of darkness that wants power for himself? Is it the unknown spawn of a faithful death eater from all those years ago? Or is a copycat in our midst? And while all of this hate, anger, and power forge on…how is it that love, and friendship, has entered our lives? The students at Hogwarts are living their lives as normal witches and wizards: pranks are played, papers are forged, and lifelong friendships begin. So if stories are stories and rumors are rumors then why is everyone scared? Harry Potter wants to find out, but his story ended with the birth of the new generation. He is no longer the one hearing the whispers; he is not the chosen one anymore. But who is? With so many prospective suspects, and promising students where is the line between good and evil….and who’s crossing it?
All of these answers are up to us. We are the next generation.
