All was well in England around 1976. Well, all but the war that threatened to knock on everyone's door, muggle and wizard alike. It was a war unlike any the world had ever seen; not since Gellert Grindelwald's defeat in 1945 had there been a dark wizard whose name inspired such fear and (to some) reverence, but not even the scare from thirty one years back had accumulated this much momentum.

The storm was gathering its full force, with Death Eaters meeting almost weekly in their various hideouts to discuss individual progress and take turns adorning their lord with infinite (but often trembling) words of praise. Voldemort himself spent his time moving around the countryside as to not be caught, but such idleness was not becoming of such men. They would not hold back from striking for long, and one could only wonder: when? When would the full brunt of the terror begin?

Many wizards publicly declared their (and their families’) neutrality in this war, hoping to perhaps slip under the radar unnoticed. There was always the chance for anyone to become an accidental victim, but better an accidental victim than a target.

Yet there were a few who decided to put themselves in the path of the devil and fight back. The Order of the Phoenix had formed, and was willing to recruit anyone with a heart of gold and a courage of steel. The Order was outnumbered for sure, and had to meet in secret so as to not unnecessarily risk the lives of their already few members. But against such bleak odds, how long was it before this brave handful of warriors started to crumble under the pressure and began to dissipate into the forgotten?

For many of the students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the war had yet to affect them in too great a way. With Dumbledore as headmaster, Death Eaters and various other servants of the Dark Lord kept at bay from the institution. But there was a question on the mind of every student--which path should they take? To stand and fight, to fuel the evil or to try their best to avoid it? And while this important question lingered, responsibilities always detracted from their moments to think. Classes were still in session, friends wanted to spend time with one another, love sparked and died and, perhaps most of all, life went on.
Would it be long before the war reached Hogwarts?
